  1. Submit your application online or in person.

  2. We conduct a preliminary review of your qualifications, availability, and background.

  3. After you pass step 2, your application is made available to all Day Program & Professional Managers. If selected, they will call you in for an interview.

  4. To be considered, all candidates must register with the Family Care Safety Registry. If you are already registered, we encourage you to call them at (866) 422-6872 and ensure they have your most current information so there are no issues with your screening. You may also complete the Abuse & Neglect requirement in advance. It will take approximately 10-20 minutes of your time.

  5. If a manager makes an offer of employment, you will be scheduled with administration to sign your hiring paperwork. This is when you will need to bring your:

    • Driver’s license

    • Social Security card

    • Proof of education

    • Proof of current auto insurance

    • A voided check or a Direct Deposit Letter from your bank. PLEASE NOTE: Palmer’s Home Care does not cut paper paychecks. Direct deposit is mandatory for all employees.

    • Any current or expired certifications such as CPR/First Aid, L1MA, CPI, CMA, CNA, etc. Paid training is provided for any expired or new certifications. These will be scheduled during the hiring process.

    • All items are required. The hiring process cannot be completed if any one of these are not provided.

    • Please allow 45-60 minutes for the hiring process, or longer if you have not completed the Abuse & Neglect requirement. After completing your hiring paperwork, we will schedule you for PBS, CPR/First Aid, L1MA, CPI, and any other certifications or refresher courses required to get you started. You will need to have weekday availability during normal business hours to complete these required classes, as some will take one to two entire days.

  6. Don’t be discouraged if you don’t get a call right away! We may simply not have any openings for you at that time. We retain all applications on file for a minimum of six months.
    IMPORTANT: If you only select day shift availability, your odds of receiving a callback are significantly reduced. The more scheduling flexibility you can offer, the greater your odds are to be called for an interview.

There is no need to call us to check on the status of your application. We will contact you if we have an opening that matches your location, availability, and qualifications.
